The Choctaw Alphabet is comprised of 21 letters, including three combinations, their pronunciation is very similar to English, a detail which could explain why it was so easy for the missionaries to learn to communicate with the Choctaw.
As it is with any language, the passing of time and dispersion of the people serve only to alter the dialect resulting The Mississipi and the Oklahoma Choctaw pronounce the same words in slightly different ways.
